Highway 491 Brush Fire Threatens Livestock & Structures

On Friday, November 8th, shortly after 1:00 p.m., a brush fire was reported on the east side of Highway 491, at mile post 55.

According to USGS, shortly after 8:10 a.m. MST on November 11, 2019, an eathquake with a 1.9 magnitude at 1km of depth was recorded near Slick Rock Canyon, appoximately 35 miles from Dove Creek, Colorado in the West Paradox Basin.

The GPS location was listed at: 38.273°N 108.917°W and no damage has been reported.

On July 12th 2019, shortly before 5:00 p.m. MST, a series of lightning strikes hit around Dove Creek and surrounding points.

 

Only minutes after, a report was made of fire near the old Squaw Point Fire Station.

 

At the time of this article, three separate points or origin were reported, and though there are still agencies on scene, all of them are extinguished.
