Xi Delta Tau 2019-2020 Chapter Sweetheart is Amber Spore
Growing up in a construction family, I moved to the four corners area in 1989. While attending Cortez schools I kept active with sports and friends. After graduating in 1998, I decided to head into the work force. While working at the Skyline in 2000 with my mom, a man walked in and caught my eye. As he went to leave my mom turned to say, “wasn’t he a handsome guy?” In response Amber said “I’m gonna marry that one.”
In 2003 Amber and Shane Spore were joined in marriage and in 2004, welcomed their first child, a daughter, Sarah, and in 2007 a seconded child, a son, Brett. After the birth of their son, Shane and Amber applied for and got a job caretaking a ranch high in the San Juan mountains. This allowed Amber the opportunity to be active and present in the family home which has been one of the best blessings she could have. She also enjoys all outside activities from hunting and fishing to camping and all these are enjoyed alongside her sisters, family and friends.
In 2018, XI Delta Tau invited Amber to join our Sorority. She currently holds office of Vice President.
“I was so honored to be invited to be part of an organization that takes such pride in their community and its people. My Sorority sisters are truly family”.
Our Sorority does the Health Fair, Triangle park decorations, picks up trash for a mile along Highway 491, do maintenance for the Cahone park in the summer, and are a sponsor for Dolores County Fair & Rodeo and we also do fund raisers for a scholarship for one or more Dove Creek High School Seniors.
Amber & Shane will be honored by a meal at the Bubba’s Restaurant, in Lewis, CO on February 14, 2020.
