The Cahone Post Office suffered damage caused by a burglary from inside the boxes used for oversized parcels.

The boxes appeared to have been pried open with a crowbar or similar instrument.

The burglary attempt was estimated to have occured sometime from Sunday evening (January 31) to Monday morning (February 1).

The contents of the boxes are unknown at this time, so there currently is no method to estimate the value of the items missing.

Regular mail boxes appear to have no damage and show no signs of a breach.

When contacted, the Dolores County Sheriff's Office stated that no reports were available and the case was referred to the Postal Inspector as it is a Federal Crime.
