Services for Darrel will be held Thursday June 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Eastland, Utah. A time of visiting and celebrating his life will follow at the Eastland Park.

Darrel was born January 23, 1936 and passed away March 22, 2020 at the age of 84. Darrel was born to James Homer Rogers and Ellen Marie Taylor Rogers in their home at Lockerby, Utah. The Rogers family lived in the Eastland area until the time of his father's death, Darrel was only 7 years of age at that time. After his father's death Ellen and the family moved to Mancos, Colo to stay with relatives.

It was there that Ellen met and married Emmett Neely and the family moved to Oklahoma. Darrel joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. After his discharge he returned to Monticello, Utah where he met and married the love of his life Charlene Faye Schafer. They made their home in Eastland, Utah where they raised their 6 children.

Darrel enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In his later years the family would sit around and listen to the tales of his adventures when he was younger. Darrel was still quite active in farming, helping his son until a year or so ago. Darrel passed away peacefully at his home in Eastland surround by family members.

Darrel is proceeded in death by his father James Homer Rogers, mother Ellen Marie Taylor Rogers Neely. Half-brothers Bill Rogers, Dee Rogers, Keith Taylor and Richard Dittmar. Brothers Frederick (Buck) Rogers, Kent (Red) Rogers, James Rogers, Jesse Rogers. Sisters Doris Jean McKinley, Patricia Ann Rogers (infant). Half-sister Darlene Neely, nephews Larry Rogers and Jackie Rogers and son-in-law Curtis Renfro.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Charlene Faye Schafer Rogers.

Children Ronnie Lee Rogers (Kathy), Kathryn Smith, Jeanie Kay Rogers, Debra Lynn Roberts, Sandra Elaine Vela and Loriann Renfro . Fifteen grandchildren, Seventeen great-grandchildren, Half brother David Neely and many nieces and nephews.

Darrel was a good husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
