Growing up in a construction family, I moved to the four corners area in 1989. While attending Cortez schools I kept active with sports and friends. After graduating in 1998, I decided to head into the work force. While working at the Skyline in 2000 with my mom, a man walked in and caught my eye. As he went to leave my mom turned to say, “wasn’t he a handsome guy?” In response Amber said “I’m gonna marry that one.”
With the creation of a 1,345-acre land conservation easement in cooperation with a local landowner and the Montezuma Land Conservancy, San Miguel County will preserve wilderness and maintain habitat for wildlife.
